Training, qualifications & experience
- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
I have gained a lot experience and qualifications over the years, including training courses covering the subjects of trauma, mood disorders, bereavement and loss, homicide and suicide.
I have worked with individuals who have been victims of crime and I am aware of the trauma people may experience. I have also worked with children in schools who have been subject to crime and the severe implications this can cause.
For three years I was working in a school as a play therapist, this I feel can be a very effective way of improving one's confidence and enabling them to speak out about past experiences.
I worked for twelve years at a hospice as a pre and post death bereavement counsellor for both long and short term bereavement, I also ran groups with with the overall aim being that clients involved would be able to move on. I worked a great deal with the criminal justice system with adults and children; as well as playing a big role with Kent child witness where I supported children and accompanied them in court.
In my private practice I have worked with depression, addictions and helping children to rebuild their lives, and achieve their ultimate goals. I have also worked in a GP surgery, this mainly being short term work as well as keeping within budgets.
