P. Elaine Burberry
Chester Le Street
Allendale, Nr Hexham
My name is Elaine. I work with both with couples and individuals and have always been interested in people and their stories.
When working with people struggling with relationships, I like to understand whats happening in the relationship, how this affects the relationship itself and what impact this has on each individual. As we engage with your experiences and what is and isn't not working, I aim to create a safe space where each person can speak and be heard. During this process our understanding of the issues and each person involved can grow. As this happens the view can become clearer.
With clarity, so much more is possible.
With individuals, my aim is similar – to create a safe space for you to speak, be heard, look at what is distressing you and how this is affecting you. We can work together to find a clearer understanding of whats happening and what may be possible for you, moving forward.
I am trained as both a Relationship Counsellor (with Relate and The Gestalt Centre, London) and a Gestalt Therapist (with the Edinburgh Gestalt Institute) and have been working with couples and individuals since 2010.
Gestalt Therapy is a compassionate way of learning to get to know yourself, your thoughts and your feelings, which may, right now, feel complicated, contradictory, muddled, uncomfortable and possibly overwhelming.
