About me

Hi, I am a fully qualified and experienced Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist, providing a warm, confidential and professional counselling service for adults, children and young people. I have practice venues based in Haywards Heath and Uckfield and also provide counselling in schools and colleges.

My work, training and personal experience has shown me that people grow through supportive and caring relationships and that the healing of deep wounds is possible.

Therapy can be challenging but can also be rewarding. At the heart of my practice is a prizing of the individual, an acceptance of and respect for the path that is right for you. Everybody goes through difficulties in life and my aim is to help you feel a little less alone in those times. Whether short or long term, we can work together to explore and alleviate any issues which are causing you difficulty and preventing you from moving forward. I am committed to nurturing change and will endeavour to be as real and open as I can, whilst also bringing the knowledge and skills from my training and experience, to provide insight and alternative ways of approaching the issues you bring.

Sometimes words are not quite enough to express the depth of your experience. At times like these, if you would like to, we can work creatively to explore something you are struggling with. This could include making art, working with figures, or images from around the room, writing or anything else that feels like it could help.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Training and Qualifications.

I am fully qualified and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I hold a Bachelor of Science First Honours Degree in Person Centred Counselling.

The training was thorough and in depth and I believe it is of utmost importance to continue to learn and grow as a counsellor which is why I regularly attend training and development days as part of my on-going CPD (continual personal development).

In addition to my Counselling Degree I have had extensive training in Counselling Children and Young People,Child Protection and Safeguarding and Neuroscience and Attachment Theory.

My experience.

A lot of my work has centred on working with children, young people and adults in an educative setting and I have a sound understanding of the pressures to achieve, fit in and thrive in what can be such a competitive environment. I enjoy working with adolescents and their families and am able to work creatively and spontaneously to best suit the needs of my clients.

I have continuous experience of providing counselling and psychotherapy to children, young people, adults and families to a diverse range of organisations such Schools, Academies, Local Authorities, Charities and private practice. I have had further training and experience in working with people with Autism and Acquired Brain Injury.

I am also employed to provide bilingual support in schools and for families and have extensive experience of the challenges that English as an additional language entail.

I am a professional Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework for good practice.

I attend regular supervision and have full cover professional liability insurance.

I have current Enhanced DBS Clearances.
