Nyasha Mutavayi - PgDip Integrative Psychotherapy, DBT Therapist, RNMH
Hello, my name is Nyasha. I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and a self development coach who is based in the Leeds area. I am passionate about empowering people to become the best version of themself that they aspire to be. I aim to do this by providing a safe, contained, non clinical private practice that welcomes individuals to bring their "whole" self. In particular, the different parts of themself that they may otherwise shy away from.
What I can offer you
I offer a supportive therapeutic consulting space with a primary goal of getting to know you....the person or people sat before me. Together we will create a space that you feel safe to bring your true self. I will get to know you by listening both to the spoken and unspoken, I will be empathic and I will be supportive. I will encourage you to use our time together in whichever way that best serves you. The primary focus being to get your needs met. My approach is very much relational, you and I.
How long will we work for:
As a psychotherapist I can do both long and short term work. The duration of the length of time we schedule to work for is entirely up to you. Therapeutic sessions are usually once weekly but there is flexibility in the frequency of the sessions.
As a coach, it is very much determined by what you need to achieve your goal.
What sort of issues can we work on:
We can work on a wide range of issues such as day to day struggles that maybe around relationships with your self, relationships with family members, relationships at work and relationships with partners. It maybe that you are wanting to take your career to the next level and you feel stuck or it could be about being supported to make that big presentation that you are scheduled to make.
From my training as a mental health nurse I can also work with you on a number of mental health diagnoses. In addition I am also trained to work with issues that may have occurred within one's childhood that maybe now affecting an individual's adult life in the here and now. Sometimes our formative experiences have a huge impact on how we love, we raise our children, on the careers we pick and inevitably on our own mental health.
It maybe that it is your child that is struggling with being bullied at school or maybe nightmares at night and you can't quite get them to open up to you. Or it could be that as a family you may feel stuck and don't feel that you are able to communicate effectively anymore and need some support.
Where do I work from:
My consulting room is based in the East Leeds within a residential setting. There is a free designated parking area. There are two bus stops, one that is just outside my consulting room and another that is a 5 minute walk away.
What sort of appointments can I offer :
I can usually offer a range of appointments from early morning to evening appointments all dependant on availability and need.
Initial appointment :
Our first appointment is an opportunity for us to meet and both see if we are best suited to working together. So you have an opportunity to see if my way of working suits your personality or if I can offer you what you need before we agree to work together. The session will usually run for an hour for a reduced fee of £35.

I can offer telephone therapy for those individuals that may find it difficult to attend the sessions in person. We would begin by having an initial appointment at a scheduled time for an hour to find out if we are suited to working together. During this time you will have an opportunity to ask me anything you like. I will in turn explain how I work. Payment for any telephone work is usually requested prior to the session, usually on the day of the scheduled appointment.
