Counselling and Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic counselling is a counselling method which involves making discoveries about yourself. It aims to bring the unconscious into the conscious awareness so that you can gain some insight and understanding into what is going on in your life or what is troubling you.
Talking about past experiences may be very painful and difficult at times. During therapy, together we seek to understand how current emotional and psychological difficulties can have their origin in thoughts and feelings that are unconscious to you and may be located somewhere in past childhood experiences.
Psychodynamic therapy is considered one of the more long-term therapy types. It is a gradual process which takes time, however the results can be life changing.
Your first session will be an initial consultation where you will have the opportunity to discuss what brought you here. After our initial meeting, if you feel that you would like to work with me, we will arrange a day and a time that suits both of us to meet regularly once a week.
