Noemi Porubska MBACP
I believe that the essence of therapy is to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment in which together we can explore past experiences and how they effect your current situation.
Coming to counselling can be a difficult decision, however once you decide together we can explore your thoughts and feelings. Counselling will allow you to learn about yourself and understand why you feel the way you do. Therapy can help you think about your issues in a different way which can be sometimes painful to you.
I work psychodynamically which means that through listening to the thoughts and feelings that you may begin to express we can understand the more hidden or unconscious meanings.
I have experience working with people from different cultures, social backgrounds and age. I have worked with clients who struggled with issues such as anxiety and depression, marital and relationship problems, self esteem and self confidence, sexuality, attachment issues, sexual and physical abuse, just to name a few.
Your first session will be an initial consultation where you will have the opportunity to discuss why you would like to have counselling. After our initial meeting, if you feel that you would like to work with me, we will arrange a day and a time that suits both of us to meet regularly once a week.
My private practice is based in Finchley Central and Muswell Hill/East Finchley and I also practice in Holborn.
