Noëlle Rorke MBACP, Dip Couns; Dip Coach; BEd
Why Counselling and why now?
I have over 20 years experience of working as a qualified counsellor, in both private and community based settings.
Fear of change, and fear of fear, can feel so strong that it seems an impossible challenge to move forward without these lurking in the shadows. Overcoming fear is not only possible; it will literally transform your life. Your journey with me through Counselling will bring you a stronger sense of who you are, and what you need in order to become more in control of your life, and happier. I provide a nurturing and safe space that will allow you to address the deeper issues that are preventing you from fully accepting who you are and reaching your potential. Counselling is a collaborative endeavour, with you firmly in the driving seat.
I am a BACP registered and accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with many years of experience in certain specialist areas that include relationship issues, confidence building, generalised anxiety disorder and panic attacks, depression, childhood sexual abuse, separation and divorce, family issues, loss, stress, addiction, drug and alcohol dependency and eating disorders. I am also a qualified and experienced Life Coach. All my work is underpinned by strict professional standards.
Your experience of Counselling with me
My clients appreciate my engaging style, laced with warmth, wisdom and insight, and my absolute faith in their ability to deepen self awareness, make connections, and find the strength and confidence to make lasting positive changes. I maintain an infectious adherence to the theme of hope as you will learn to understand that it is you who do the work of healing and recovery, not me. I act simply as a mirror to your world. As an integrative therapist, the bedrock of my work is Person Centred, while training in many areas such as CBT, Motivational approach, Stress management, Life Coaching and NLP allows me to provide a tailor made service as appropriate.
I live in west Cornwall, and work regularly here and in London, through face to face, Skype and telephone sessions. The importance of personal development is paramount for me, and I believe I present a positive personal example of the potential fruits of this enriching process. I lead a varied and happy life. Certain things in my life have been and still are very important to me, and I place great importance on regularly reflecting on and reviewing my own life balance. I have lots of interests, and my relationship with all these things brings me fulfilment and makes me feel whole.
In Cornwall I see individuals and couples from my home. There is good access for people with mobility difficulties, and ample parking outside. I offer a free one hour initial consultation where you can experience my style of counselling.
Relationship Counselling (for Individuals or Couples)
Human relationships offer us potentially the most fulfilling part of our lives. They can also be the most challenging. The people we deal with in our day to day lives may be business colleagues, parents, lovers or our closest friends and relatives. Sometimes it is hard to know where to begin to work on improving our relationships, but counselling can help. Through discovering who we are in our relationships, and working on the beliefs and attitudes that influence how we behave within them, we learn how to be with others, rather than how to change them.

"It is not an exaggeration to say that my work with Noëlle has been life-changing. She has enabled me to move forward from a very stuck place towards living wholeheartedly and beginning to achieve goals I had only dreamed about. The counselling process with Noëlle is powerful, dynamic and illuminating, and her sensitive and intelligent guidance has been invaluable. With her help I have learned greater resourcefulness, gained greater self knowledge and dealt with obstacles to happiness. I would not hesitate to recommend Noëlle, and bless the day I started work with her."

"How often do you find someone who’s only interested in supporting you and helping you find out how to get the best out of your life – and who does this brilliantly well? In Noëlle you’ve found this, and you are extremely lucky – she is worth her weight in gold! Our sessions have resulted in me putting into place some real changes in the way I think and act which have massively improved my life and my outlook. She has helped me to really understand what makes me tick, what drives me, and, most importantly, what has been holding me back. I have worked with Noëlle on the practicalities of changing careers and starting a business, and she has skillfully helped me to work out what I want to do. She has been invaluable in helping me to identify and release some really unhelpful things I used to tell myself (mainly about my abilities, how other people view me, my chance of success and how confident I am – or not!) and as a result I have felt so much more energised and optimistic. Noëlle really listens, and hones in on where the issue is and helps me to work it through. After a session I almost always feel like I’ve really done some work – but I also feel optimistic and ready to get out there and do it!"

Noëlle helped me to discover how exciting life could be by allowing me to talk through my confusions and support me to take one simple step outside my comfort zone which led to genuine happiness."

"Noëlle really helped me think through things and then take measures to get results. She was firm as needed but also very sensitive and helpful. I am much more relaxed these days and doing better at work and outside work. It was a difficult process for me but Noëlle made it so much better with her patience and support. A great experience but also a necessary one to make things happen in my life. I can't thank her enough."

"I loved working with Noëlle. She is a great professional, willing to help you achieve the change you're looking for. She has a gentle yet firm approach, and she will help you gain clarity in whatever area of your life that might be blurry. I've had a few light bulb moments myself while in session with Noëlle, and that clarification helped me move forward more calmly and confidently. I wouldn't hesitate in working with her again in the future and would totally recommend her."

"I was (and still am) on a soul searching journey when I started my sessions with Noelle. My experience with her as a professional has been enriching, impactful and truly unforgettable. She has a warm curiosity that naturally encourages you to open up and unlock your potential. I have started to listen more to my heart and let that shine through to achieve what I truly desire."

"I'm so grateful to Noelle for all the help and support she's given me. Her wisdom and insights have enabled me to see why I was going adrift and what I needed to do to get back on track. I am so relieved that, after a few sessions, I can now see new paths beginning to open up for me and am looking forward to new beginnings with hope and enthusiasm. With love and thanks."
