Nina Watson MA, MSc, PG Cert., Reg. MBACP (Accredited)
I have more than 15 years experience of working in mental health and social care.
As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I have worked in various settings and helped adults and young people with all kinds of emotional problems. In my last position for the NHS, I provided integrative psychotherapy for individuals who struggled with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, relational difficulties, trauma, mood fluctuations, high self-criticism and/ or low self-esteem.
In December 2014, I set up 'mind talk', a small counselling and psychotherapy practice dedicated to offering professional, confidential and reliable support for anybody seeking some extra help.
I help people like yourself by exploring with them how they relate and react to themselves and others (feelings, opinions, behaviours, etc.). We then look at and put into practise different ways of being with oneself and responding to the world. An approach I have found invaluable in facilitating this is compassion-focused therapy.
Compassion-focused therapy works by increasing feelings of safeness, belonging and being cared for through the development of compassion and self-compassion. There is a growing body of scientific research demonstrating the role of compassion in effectively dealing with feelings and resolving conflict. Here a link to more detailed information about compassion-focused therapy
If you are interested in finding out more about how counselling/ psychotherapy can help you, just write me an email or give me a call and we can arrange an introductory session.
