Nikky Sternhell - MSc, BPC registered
I work with people who are struggling with difficulties such as depression, relationship issues, anxiety or just a general feeling that things are not right. I offer daytime or evening appointments in a safe and confidential setting.
I am registered as a psychodynamic counsellor with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), which is a professional organisation promoting excellence in the field, and I work according to their code of ethics.
Perhaps you are feeling depressed or anxious, or have difficulties with a relationship, or at work. Or maybe you are troubled by a general lack of confidence, or overwhelming feelings about a bereavement or other loss. Or you may not know why you feel as you do, but just feel stuck, and helpless or hopeless.
Counselling can help...
What happens in counselling?
A counselling session provides a safe, confidential space for you to talk about absolutely anything... it is a space where you will be listened to and thought about. I will not offer advice or judgement, but will work with you towards understanding whatever is troubling you, and making sense of your difficulties.
Please see my website for more information about how I may be able to help.
The first step is to contact me. I would be happy to talk to you about what you are looking for and what I can offer, without committing you to anything further.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at Birkbeck College (University of London) and graduated with a masters degree in psychodynamic counselling. In addition to my private practice, I have worked for ten years as a counsellor in the voluntary sector and five years as an honorary psychotherapist in the NHS.
I have also trained and practised as a bereavement counsellor with Cruse.
