About me

I offer room based therapy in North Finchley, a safe, confidential and supportive environment where you can explore your concerns at your own pace and I can offer short or long term therapy to suit your needs. I also have a second location in Enfield.

Many people experience difficult emotions at some time in their life which are often resolved without help. However sometimes you may need additional support and therapy is an opportunity to have a safe place to talk about your life and explore issues that may be difficult or confusing for you. Counselling and therapy can be a way to investigate and work through difficult feelings, consider different perspectives and discover helpful strategies and inner resources. It can also help increase your self confidence and help you understand unhelpful relationship patterns in your life.

If you have any questions or would like to arrange to meet please give me a call. If we both feel therapy may be helpful for you we can agree to meet for regular sessions.

North Finchley - I am located at Aashna Counselling & Psychotherapy, just off North Finchley High Street. The nearest tube is Woodside Park (approx 10 min walk) and there is paid for parking nearby.

Enfield - I am located in Enfield Town (walking distance from Enfield Town or Enfield Chase stations) with paid for and free parking available.

Training, qualifications & experience

I run an independent therapy practice in North London, offering individual counselling. I work with The Painted Horse organisation, offering Equine Assisted Psychotherapy to groups and individuals around the UK. I have a MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, a Clinical Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and Psychotherapeutic Counselling and adhere to the BACP ethical guidelines for good practice. I am a Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) with EATA.
I am also a registered member of BACP and UKCP.

I am also a TA supervisor and trainer - PTSTA(P)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
