Nicola Thompson, MBACP
Are you feeling low, stressed, or anxious? Is life becoming difficult to manage? Whatever is troubling you, talking to someone in a safe, confidential environment can help you make sense of the things that you are finding it difficult to cope with.
I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means that I use skills and techniques from several different counselling approaches, depending on your individual needs. Counselling is a talking therapy which offers a way for you to explore thoughts and feelings which you feel unable to share with anyone else. Talking through your difficulties can help you to understand painful thoughts and feelings, and can be the first step towards feeling more positive about yourself and your situation.
I believe that building a trusting relationship with your counsellor is at the heart of the therapy I offer and it is important that we both feel that we can work together. For this reason you are welcome to contact me so we can discuss what is troubling you, and this will give us an opportunity to find out whether we feel comfortable talking together.
I offer short term and longer term one-to-one counselling. We can discuss which is best for you either in our first session, or as the sessions progress. We will review how your counselling is going as we work together, so that you are involved in deciding how many sessions you have and when it is the right time for your counselling to come to an end.
