Nicola Stait MBACP Registered Counsellor
42 Clarence Street
You may have reached here as you are feeling like you are struggling with a personal difficulty, and would like some help to get past this. You might also be feeling quite nervous about the thought of counselling, and what to expect.
People come to counselling for many reasons and at different times of their life. It may be that you have a relationship problem, or perhaps you have been feeling out of sorts for some time. As an experienced counsellor, I can listen to you and support you to explore the problem further, to help you gain a better understanding of it, and to find a way forward with the issue.
Some of the main reasons people come to counselling are due to anxiety, depression, bereavement or relationship difficulties. I have several years experience of working within these areas, and would be able to help you navigate these difficult issues.
It is common with people who come to counselling to feel that they are experiencing a range of problems, instead of fitting into one neat label. Working with an integrative model of counselling, I am able to listen to your individual story, and have been trained in a range of therapeutic approaches. This means I can be flexible to the range of issues you may be having and how we work with these. My Integrative training has included CBT, Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Gestalt approaches.
Who can I work with?
I provide counselling to adults, children and young people, and people with additional needs in a safe and confidential setting in the centre of Cheltenham. Alongside my private practice, I also work for a charity providing counselling to young people, and for a healthcare provider, providing counselling to employees of large organisations. This diversity in my clients has meant that I have built up experience with a range of different issues.
When I am available?
I can offer weekday and evening appointments. To get in contact with me, please email me using the link above. I will usually respond within the same day.
