Hi my name is Nicky, I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist, Life Coach and NLP , based in , Rodney Street Liverpool . I deal with many issues, including depression, relationship issues, divorce, anxiety (generalised anxiety disorder), self-esteem, abuse, anger management, bi-polar, addictions, family issues and bereavement. I also work a lot with children and adolescents.
Throughout our lives we experience difficulties that we may find hard to deal with. Knowing that you are not on your own and talking through your emotions may be helpful.
My approach is non-directive and I aim to provide a safe environment, where you will not feel under pressure or judged, this allows you to explore and make sense of your own feelings and thoughts. I will work alongside you and at a pace that it right for you. I am aware that everyone progresses at different stages, this is why I adapt my sessions to meet and suit your individual needs.
I offer both short term counselling ( up to 6 weeks) and long term (6 weeks or more ) which is based on your needs and discussed at our first meeting.
At our initial meeting we will create a contract together outlining how many sessions, the length of sessions, confidentiality and boundaries, we will review after a couple of sessions to ensure that you are getting the best out of therapy and discuss if you would like the sessions to continue.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have eleven years experience working in a counselling setting working privately and within Educational & Health settings. I have worked closely with young people, students, families and outside agencies offering support and guidance. I am passionate and committed about the emotional health and well-being of every person and I believe that everyone is equal. I have also gained valuable experience working with children who have special educational needs and have delivered and adapted interventions to tailor and meet their needs.
I have worked therapeutically in a primary setting with a wide range of clients, adults, and young people who presented complex issues such as anxiety, mental health, depression, drug and alcohol misuse, relationship breakdown, historical abuse and suicide ideation.
Aside from my private work within the clinic. More recently I have also worked with students in a pupil referral unit and a emotional, social and well being unit, offering support , guidance and alternative strategies to a positive outcome. My experience also consits of working with staff in an education setting offering them support too. I am also Team Teach trained .I have attended and delivered workshops on Self-Harm and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I have experience working privately as a Occupational Therapist offering short and long term therapy and reintroducing clients back into the workplace.
I have a post-graduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy, from Liverpool John Moores University. This qualification is accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also qualified in Hypnotherapy (Dip HSM, Dip AH, Master Practioner, Dip NLP, and Certificate Life Coaching .)
