I am a fully qualified and registered member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. As an integrative therapist I work in a Person Centred way, integrating Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, depending on my clients individual needs. You can self refer directly by telephone/text or email (07931 firstname.lastname@example.org). All enquiries are treated with absolute discretion and confidentiality. I accept referrals from external agencies such as GP services and EAP's (Employee Assistance Programmes).
I have an interest in working with issues which may arise from childhood and development. Many people are often unaware that current difficulties in relationships (personal and work), self esteem and generalised anxiety/depression can become clearer by exploring our earlier years. The difficulties may be very current and new or they may be ongoing or re-occurring. Whatever your experiences, together we will work through them to be able to understand and find a way to be able to move forward.
I am privileged to share in my clients' emotional journeys and process. As a volunteer counsellor at the Macmillan Centre at Trafford General hospital I supported clients through bereavement and life changing illnesses, amongst other complex issues. I have gained extensive experience working within the NHS.
My fundamental belief is to value each person for themselves whilst facilitating the process of exploring issues, and enabling you to move forward. I do not offer advice but an empathic, non-judgemental warm space to safely explore whatever you choose to share in your therapy sessions. I am committed to my clients and strongly endorse confidentiality in accordance with The BACP's ethical framework.
I have a great passion for 'talking therapies' and I believe most people can benefit from personalised tailored counselling through many stages and difficulties in life. As a required from The BACP, I have ongoing professional supervision from a highly trained and well respected counselling supervisor, who is an experienced Transactional Psychotherapist. This supports me in providing a high standard of practice, keeping my clients central to the therapeutic process. I am very proactive in my own professional development. I attend regular training, seminars and peer support/training groups to be able to offer my clients best practice.
Whatever difficulties you may be experiencing or you would like an informal discussion I am happy to receive or return calls and reply to email/text enquiries and together we can explore how to move forward in a way which suits you. My private practice is situated in Labyrinth House, Middle Hillgate, Stockport with available parking. It is easily accessible via public transport, M60, M56 joining the A6. It is a discreet, comfortable and wellcoming space to begin your journey. I look forward to hearing from you..
