I describe myself as an integrative counsellor, working from a person centred perspective. This means that I use a number of different types of counselling theories in my work, depending on the issues brought to counselling and most importantly what feels right for you, though this does mean there may be gentle challenges to your ways of thinking.
I offer short and long term counselling to anyone aged 18 or over.
I have worked with people with:
- various disabilities
- sexual issues
- gender related issues including non-binary
- work related issues
- relationship and family problems
- low self esteem
- loss and bereavement
- guilt and shame
- life changes
- spiritual issues
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Diploma level 5 qualification, a professional certificate in Counselling Skills and I am a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I have regular supervision in accordance with the requirements of BACP and undertake ongoing Continuing Professional Development.
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Affairs and betrayals
- Anger management
- Asperger's syndrome
- Carer support
- Chronic fatigue syndrome/ME
- Domestic violence

My fees are £35 for 50 minutes, however, I offer a reduced price depending on circumstances and a rate for students of £20 per session.
I see my role as being that of a guide to you – helping you understand yourself and to find a positive way forward.
I can help you begin to trust your own deep, internal resources – my responsibility being to create a safe space where all parts of you are welcome; even, or especially the parts that could be deemed ‘unacceptable'.
My experience, both as counsellor and as client, tells me that as we develop a trusting relationship in a safe environment you can bring whatever you need to. As that process happens over the weeks then you can slowly begin to feel unstuck and there can be healing of the deeper wounds.
