About me

Welcome, I’m Niamh, the anxiety therapist!

I’m here to help you understand and manage your anxiety, so that you can regain your sense of well-being.

I've been a counsellor and psychotherapist for 8 years and I've helped lots of women successfully overcome the overwhelm associated with anxiety, depression, trauma and ADHD.

👇🏻Does this sound like you?

1. Are you feeling low in mood and lacking motivation?

2. Are racing thoughts keeping you awake?

3. Are you tired and stressed before the day even begins?

4. Are the demands of your work and home life too much to manage?

5. Are you an over-burdened people pleaser who can’t say no?

6. Are you finding it hard to concentrate at work?

7. Do you overthink every aspect of your life?

8. Do you compare yourself negatively to others?

9. Do you feel that no matter what you do, you are just not good enough?

10. Are you struggling with unpleasant and unwanted memories or nightmares?

If you answered yes to any or even all of these questions, I'm here to help you:

📍Improve your mood

📍Improve your sleep

📍Build self-esteem

📍Improve your confidence

📍Devise new coping strategies

📍Reduce work stress

📍Reduce anxiety

📍Silence the inner critic

📍Understand the past

📍Process past trauma

📍Improve your relationships

📍Understand and manage ADHD

I'm a pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist; this means that I think people can be helped using a range of therapeutic approaches.

I‘ll help you to choose the best way to deal with the issues you’re experiencing.

I'm passionate about helping women feel good about themselves again using all tools and resources available to us.

You might be feeling nervous about starting therapy. This is completely normal and I promise to make every effort to help you feel relaxed.

📍I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to help you decide if I'm the right therapist for you.

In the first session, I will gather some background information about you.

This information will help me to understand you as a person and the difficulties you're having that led you to seek professional support.

Once the assessment is complete, I will discuss the range of therapy options I have available for supporting you.

I will help you to set some goals for our sessions to ensure that you know when you’ve achieved everything you wanted from therapy.

If you’re ready to start your journey towards feeling better, call or email me to arrange your free consultation today!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
