About me

Thank you for visiting my counselling page. My name is Natasha Medina and I am a BACP registered, fully qualified and accredited, experienced integrative counsellor & psychotherapist.

Now more than ever, it may be difficult to feel safe, secure and peaceful in your life. I seek to create a non-judgemental space that helps us to, together, work through whatever difficulties you are experiencing. I believe that building trust between counsellor and client is crucial in the work and it is a priority of mine for you to feel comfortable in the space with me.

Specialising in:

Anxiety, depression, relationship issues-- including family & communication issues.

How I work

I help you to work through your experiences and emotions in a safe and non-judgemental environment. It's important for me to understand you as an individual and explore whatever feels key to you.

As well as seeing clients from my private practice, I work with the charity Grief Encounter to offer support to those who have been bereaved, as well as in a school where I work with young adults in this setting.

Beginning Counselling

I understand that coming to counselling can be very hard-- especially if it is an entirely new experience, and this is why I am very sensitive to your needs, regardless of what these may be. No problem is too small or too big. I offer initial sessions first so that you can see whether you would like to work with me. I work at your pace and respect any information you choose to bring to the session.

My Counselling Practice

My counselling practice is located in Bushey, Hertfordshire, close to Watford. If you are travelling by public transport, Bushey Station is a 7 minute walk away, and if you are travelling by car, parking is available.

How to contact me

If you would like to contact me and discuss the possibility of starting counselling, I'll be happy to talk it through with you. My number is 07572040911 and my email address is natashajklimt@gmail.com

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified Counsellor and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am trained as an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor, a combined approach, which means I pool different theories and techniques together, in order to better understand and respond to each client and their individual needs.

I hold a BSc Honours Degree in Counselling, a Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling, a Diploma, and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

I have received additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Time-Limited Counselling, Psychiatry, Psychopathology, Psychodynamics and Gestalt Therapy.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
