About me

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.

I am a qualified UKCP registered Psychotherapist/Counsellor and practice independently at a private medical health and wellbeing clinic on the A60 in Mansfield.

I also have my own private therapy practice at Edwinstowe House, Main Street, Edwinstowe, NG21

With full professional indemnity insurance and an enhanced DBS check, I work in accordance with the ethical codes of conduct as set out by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I provide both short term counselling, where we will be able to work through specific problems, and longer term psychotherapy where deeper issues can be explored.  Every client is unique, so I work on an individual basis, integrating different methods and working relationally with each client.

It is my belief that any event, issue, experience, thought or feeling that is causing you to worry, feel anxious or stuck in your life is worthy of being listened to. Counselling and psychotherapy can often be a helpful and insightful avenue from which to explore, unfold and overcome whatever is presently causing you difficulties.

I therefore offer you a warm, authentic and confidential environment from within which you will feel safe, supported, understood and effectively helped to deal with the challenges you are experiencing.

Both practice locations provide easy access from within Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Rainworth, Southwell, Ravenshead and Edwinstowe with free parking on site.

I offer day time and evening appointments Tuesday to Thursdays

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters degree in Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Counselling from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute and hold a range of counselling and psychotherapy work experience with clients of different age groups and presenting issues. This includes but is not limited to, bereavement, loss, anxiety, panic, depression, unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, relationship concerns, domestic, physical and emotional abuse, work-related stress, and many of the issues and concerns that one might experience in later life.

Previously, I have worked as a volunteer counsellor/psychotherapist within the mental health charity MIND and Age UK, and as an independent Patients' Advocate in the NHS, as well as many years experience working in the private sector.

I am fully accredited and registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I am also a member of the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Wheelchair access available at Nottingham Rd Clinic only. In light of COVID-19, I am currently able to provide sessions by telephone and Zoom (video calls)
