Hello, most of us experience a time in life when things can feel overwhelming and difficult to cope with .If you notice you are feeling low in mood, anxious, or just don't feel your usual self in some way it can be difficult to make the first step to contact a therapist for support. I aim to offer you a safe, confidential space to explore your difficulties and feelings and to help you to work through new strategies and ways of thinking, to begin to make meaningful change.
I am an experienced and highly skilled Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I have been working in the NHS using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) since 2009 and I have successfully worked with people experiencing longstanding depression, worry/anxiety, panic attacks, low self esteem, Social Anxiety, relationship difficulties, eating disorders and complex grief.
I am passionate about CBT and have seen this therapeutic approach turn people’s lives around and I am specialized in working with people experiencing anxiety and depression. I hope to create an environment where you feel comfortable and safe so that we can create a shared understanding of your difficulties. In the course of therapy we will make sense of why and how your emotional difficulties have developed, and why they may be being maintained. I also teach practical tools, strategies and ways of thinking which people can use while we are working together to manage their feelings and to continue using after therapy is finished.
I offer short term and longer term psychotherapy. During the first session we will discuss what has brought you to therapy and to think about what type of support and approach would be helpful for you. We can discuss how comfortable you feel in the room with me and agree on a number of sessions you would like to attend. Please feel free to email me or call me to discuss this further and ask any questions you may have.
