About me

Sometimes life becomes difficult and it can be helpful to have the support of someone other than family or friends to listen. Sometimes our problems become so overwhelming that we lose sight of where we are and what we need to get back on track. Sometimes we just can’t understand why we feel the way we do.

I believe that every one of us has the resources and abilities within ourselves to reach our full potential and by discovering and understanding our strengths, our concerns can become a lot clearer to us.

As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with years of life experience behind me, I can offer you a place where you can express yourself freely and deeply without fear of being judged, and where we can work together to make the changes that will help you move forward.

From my experience in a GP surgery working with people of all ages, differing ethnicity, cultures and sexual orientation, clients have come with issues such as: depression, anxiety, self esteem, lack of confidence, relationship difficulties with friends, family or at work, at school, loss and bereavement, alcohol or substance dependence or those who just want to feel some support.

Our first meeting online in the current Covid-19 pandemic is an opportunity for you to 'meet' me, either by telephone or video, to share your concerns, expectations, hopes and fears and of course to ask any questions.  It allows you to make a decision about whether or not you wish to return for ongoing counselling and allows me to find out about what you are bringing to counselling to ensure that I am well placed to support you.

We can work short term or longer term, whichever you feel is more helpful and the sessions are 50 minutes.

i also offer online counselling by email or instant messenger and the details are on my website www.nadinelanecounselling.co.uk

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
