About me

Welcome to trust therapy.

I am a Counselling Psychotherapist currently practicing in London and online, offering long term and short term therapy. In my practice I bring together my experiences of working with people at points of change, various types of crises and transitions. I value each person's uniqueness and respond in an individual way to your circumstances and needs.

When considering counselling or psychotherapy it can often feel daunting, all that is required is a willingness to explore and understand one's life. In therapy you will be able to explore any areas of your life or there may be particular areas of concern which you would like to focus on, such as anxiety, depressions, self esteem, relationship issues etc. Whatever the circumstances are I will aim to support you through your journey.

From my experience I have found that clients most value a comfortable and trusting relationship with their therapist and the feeling of being understood. You are welcome to meet with me for an initial assessment session to see if you feel comfortable working together, there is no further obligation. If you decide to continue, you may choose either short-term or open-ended therapy, this can be reviewed and you may change your mind at any time. Counselling and psychotherapy is a very personal experience, your comfort and well being is of utmost importance.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, as well as extensive training which compliments and enhances my therapeutic work. I am also trained to offer clinical supervision to fellow therapists; as a Clinical Supervisor I am able to share the knowledge and insight I have gained through years of therapeutic practice. I have experience of working for voluntary organisations as well as in private practice, seeing both adults and young people. Outside of trust therapy I am currently working as Clinical Lead for the Ashiana Network Counselling service. At Ashiana Network we aim to help women and girls at risk of domestic violence and abuse. I am also Associate Clinical Tutor & Clinical Supervisor at University of East London.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
