About me

I am a Person Centred Counsellor, awarded Accreditation by The British Association Of Counsellors And Psychotherapists (BACP) and I have worked in a variety of settings such as Mind, NHS Doctors Surgery, Turning Point (drugs and addictions),The Young Concern Trust, and private practice.

My work has been enriched over the years, gaining experience with a broad range of clients from children, adolescents and adults from many different backgrounds and walks of life.

My approach

I continue to feel humbled and privileged each time I join alongside a clients therapeutic journey. The Person Centred belief and philosophy maintains as human beings we all inherently have the potential and drive to heal from old wounds, past or present, (given the right conditions), and building a strong and caring therapeutic alliance is where this starts. We will work together collaboratively to build trust, safety, warmth and connection.

You may want to explore concerns around past/current relationships, trauma, bereavement, depression, anxiety and more. Depending on your needs and area of concern just a few sessions may be needed, or you may prefer more time for deeper explorative work.

What to expect

When we first meet I would like to hear what brings you to seek counselling and any aspects of your life that may be impacting on your emotional or physiological well being, we can then decide if I am the right 'fit' for you, or if you need some time to decide. There is no obligation after the first meeting.

Should you decide to continue, my aim is to work alongside your Process by carefully facilitating exploration regarding how you are feeling. Renewed understanding of the root cause or 'stuckness' can pave the way for moving forward and making the changes you may be looking for within yourself and other significant relationships.

My private practice's are based near Bounds Green tube and Crouch End N8.

Please feel free to call or email regarding any questions you may have. I will be happy to have a chat under no obligation. You can phone me on 07400 226 469 or send an email.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Fees

Additional information

There is a reduced charge of £20.00 on the first meeting. We can both decide in this session if i am the right counsellor for you. You have no obligation to commit and may need time to reflect on your decision. Should you choose to start we will agree a day and time that is convenient. Therapy does not have to drag on and maybe just a few sessions is all thats needed.

My fees are £40.00 for a 50 minute session

I will offer a reduced rate for students or people on a tight budget. I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone and am open to being as fair as possible.

Testimonials

“I am without question feeling and functioning better since when I last saw you. I still have bleak periods now and then, but am able to handle them, and they pass. Its an on going process we all know that, but at least I am not wading through the dull, inarticulate despair that I was in this time last year. I feel I learned so much and gained so much with you, in the way of how to handle the life I am faced with now. I really want to thank you for your help.”

“Thank you so very much for your never ending patience, kindness and compassion. You have given me so very much help. I shall never forget you and wish you well in the future. This card sums up what I feel you have given me. “the right pair of shoes”.
