Springfields Medical Centre
I passionately believe that my life experience is of great value to me in my role of counsellor. At various times during my life I have been a husband, a parent, a carer, a widower, a team leader, and a mentor, and although I don’t profess to be an expert in any of these fields, I do believe that my experience has enabled me to form strong therapeutic relationships with other people, and has given me a deep sense of empathy, which allows a real relational depth, so important in counselling, to develop quickly and effectively.
Working in a flexible and responsive way, and using techniques such as Clean Questioning and Pluralistic Practice has delivered real results in my work, with a very broad range of clients in terms of age and presenting issues.
Training, qualifications & experience
ABC Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, comprising Professional Organisational Issues in Counselling, Counselling in a Diverse Society, Counselling Theory, Advanced Counselling Skills, Self Awareness for Counsellors, Research Methodologies in Counselling and Counselling Placements with several agencies, during which time I carried out in excess of 130 face-to-face client hours - Warrington Collegiate.
Bereavement & Loss (Stage 2) Training - St Rocco's Hospice, Warrington.
