About me

I am a professional Integrative Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Coach for adults, couples and Youths. I offer face to face, on-line and telephone counselling. I have several years of counselling experience working with clients from differing cultures and backgrounds who may be struggling to cope in some way.  My services are short term or long term therapy to Adults, Couples and Youths (16+). I am flexible in working around work or college hours and varying shift patterns. I am now offering home counselling for couples with young family commitments (please enquire for details). I also offer clinical supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors.

My consulting room is based at a clinic in Haywards Heath and is easily accessible from surrounding areas including Burgess Hill, Horsham and Crawley.
My approach is very friendly and I have effectively managed to form strong working relationships with all my clients whilst giving them the space to explore their feelings in a confidential and non-judgemental setting.  Some of the issues in counselling I specialise in are: Stress Management, Anxiety (incl. Paranoia & GAD), Depression, Trauma, Addictions, Thoughts of Suicide, Low Confidence, Relationship Issues, Anger Management,  Exam Stress and Abuse. I believe that each issue a person has is very much to their own and sometimes being able to talk to someone in confidence can help to encourage emotional growth and furthermore make changes to their life situation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, an MA London University in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I have further Certification in Stress Management & coaching as well as being an Advanced trained CBT specialist (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). I also see couples for relationship therapy and hold an accredited couples counselling Certificate trained by Relate.  I also offer Supervision to practitioners and students. Due to the present national climate, I am now offering online sessions and discounted telephone sessions.
I have experience in working with adults and young people in a community NHS setting offering primary care counselling for clients with emotional, behavioural and social mental health problems.
Previous experience working with children & Families: primary school teacher, working for a charity helping young people and adults with learning difficulties both physical and sensory disabilities.  Apart from working with a homeless charity and the Samaritans offering counselling to both, I worked for 10 years in the PR and Marketing industries for global private companies.
I have certification in Addiction therapies for, Eating Disorders, Substance abuse etc.,
I have also trained with the NHS Surrey Counselling Service and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a member of the British Psychological Society.  I am currently also a Tutor/Trainer for Level 3 CPCAB state Certification to counselling students in West Sussex.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.
