Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I work with adults and young people aged 15 and above. Some of the issues I work with include, depression, anxiety, self esteem, self harm, relationship issues, academic pressures, trauma, loss and bereavement.
Deciding to start counselling can be daunting and finding the right counsellor can be a difficult task. I hope that my profile answers some of the questions you may have. I offer a free half hour introductory session to all new clients.
I offer a safe secure and confidential space for you to talk and explore your thoughts and feelings without being judged. I aim to support you in dealing with any problems or crisis that you are experiencing. These can be long-standing problems or recent problems.
I offer appointments from my private practice in Wimborne Minster. The therapy room I work from provides a comfortable space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe and confidential atmosphere.
I am trained in humanistic therapies where the focus is on self-development, growth and responsibilities. This way of working helps individuals recognise their strengths, creativity and choice in the 'here and now'.
I am also qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. CBT is an evidence-based psychological treatment that was developed through decades of scientific research.
Research shows that CBT is one of the most effective treatments for anxiety. It is also an effective treatment for problems such as depression, chronic pain, disordered eating, anger issues, addiction, and low self-esteem.
The first session is an initial assessment, during the session, I will listen carefully to you and will be thinking about the most effective ways of working with you. This gives you the opportunity to talk in confidence, ask any further questions and to decide whether you feel you would like to work with me.
There is no obligation to continue after this unless you decide that you would like to do so.
Appointments are available on a Monday only.
