About me

Hello my name is Michelle

By your being here you may be looking for some help or answers either for yourself or someone you know. Please feel free to have a look at my information and see if there is something we can do together to improve your/their situation.

About me...

I have worked as a counsellor for 9 years and always look forward to meeting and working with new people.I am friendly, easy to talk to and dedicated to my professional approach. I offer full commitment to working with you and have a high success rate in helping individuals to change their life for the better.I am a qualified integrative counsellor. I have extensive experience working with adults and young people, my career has been working within NHS, Local Government, various charitable organisations, schools and also in private practice.

My approach...

As a counsellor my aim is to offer you help, by providing you with somewhere just for you, to look at what got you to this point. Not judging you and importantly giving you the opportunity to get things off your chest and hopefully to move on in a better way for yourself.

When things get too much for you...

It may have been life events (things from the past and/or present), emotions, feelings, relationships, behaviours and/or thought processes that have left you feeling the way you do right now.

I will offer my time, experience and commitment to help you look at your issues and to come up with the right course of action to either help resolve your difficulties or to help you find new ways of coping.

Sometimes you may feel like you've lost your way, hit a wall or have had something happen that has changed or affected you and it can be a struggle to get your head around why you can’t change how you are feeling.
So many times people end up more frustrated about their lives by having others give their opinions, ideas and advice on what they think you should do. Instead we will look at the issue from your perspective and through both of us working together you will gain insight into yourself and hopefully find new ways to feel less hurt, less worried, less scared, less low, less anxious.....

There are times people experience anger or aggression, either being angry themselves or being hurt by another individual. By working together with me you can gain a deeper understanding of anger and can find ways to reduce inappropriate actions, regret and guilt. Aiming to find new ways to solve problems and hopefully improve relationships.

How does counselling help?...

It can be a tough one getting across to people how counselling works, what it entails and to keep it as clear as possible.

Counselling works by you and I setting aside time to explore difficulties which may include stressful or emotional feelings

By me helping you to see things more clearly, possibly from a different view-point. This can enable you to focus on feelings, experiences or behaviour, with a goal of positive change.

Having a relationship of trust.  Confidentiality is paramount to successful counselling.  I will usually explain my policy on confidentiality, however, I may be required by law to disclose information if I believe that there is a risk to life.

In short...in counselling ....it's all about you.

If you want to have a chat to discuss how I may be able to be of help please give me a call or text or email...whichever suits you and we will go from there.
