Michelle Quick - Registered MBACP Adv Dip Couns
Hello and welcome to my counselling profile. Please feel free to read on and find out a little more about me and how I work with my clients. I am a firm believer that it is the relationship of trust that is paramount in the counselling relationship and that ultimately it is what works best for the client that matters. With this in mind I aim to tailor make the support I offer to suit individual needs. I provide a safe space for you to talk through any issues you might be struggling with and can support you to find healthy coping strategies to help manage emotional concerns.
I have experience of working with clients in a range of settings including: NHS, GP surgeries and the Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I offer integrative counselling, being influenced by theories of counselling such as Person Centred and Gestalt, whilst keeping in mind John Heron's six category intervention. Sometimes it can be difficult to put into words how you feel and on these occasions we could use creative interventions such as Sandplay Therapy and Compassion Focused approaches.I believe working creatively can help individuals develop a deeper self-awareness and can also promote emotional healing. I offer a time-limited and long-term service, based on your individual needs.
I provide a professional and confidential service, subscribing to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Code of Ethics & Practice.
