Michelle Quick - Registered MBACP Adv Dip Couns
Hello and welcome to my counselling profile. Please feel free to read on and find out a little more about me and how I work with my clients. I believe that it is the relationship of trust that is paramount in the therapeutic relationship along with the human impulse to grow and develop. As a counsellor I provide a safe space for you to talk through any issues you might be struggling with and can support you to develop healthy coping strategies to manage your emotional concerns.
I have experience of working with clients in a range of health care settings including: NHS Cancer Support wherein I support patients, carers and family who have been affected by cancer. I have worked in GP surgeries and also see clients at the Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I offer integrative counselling, being influenced by theories of counselling such as Person Centred, Gestalt and CBT,whilst keeping in mind John Heron's six category intervention. Sometimes it can be difficult to put into words how you feel and on these occasions we might use creative interventions such as Sandplay Therapy and guided visualisation techniques. I believe working creatively can help individuals develop a deeper self-awareness and can also promote emotional healing.
I offer a time-limited and long-term service, based on your individual needs.I provide a professional and confidential service, subscribing to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Code of Ethics & Practice.
