About me

I am a qualified and experienced CBT counsellor. I also pull upon the Person Centred approach which is tailored to the individual that I am working with. I work in a way whereas we would look at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how they affect the way in which you live your life

I am able to offer a confidential and safe environment to explore how you are feeling and what is happening for you right now in your life.

I work on a short to long term basis, this is all in accordance with the individual needs.

Together I hope we can develop new ways of coping with what you are experiencing.

Twenty years ago I started working in the caring profession working alongside young people who needed support to live independently. Since then I have worked in many settings with a diverse range of people.

I worked within a school setting for four years as a school counsellor with children from the ages of three to nineteen.

I now work in private practise with adults, children and young people.

I have experience of counselling a wide range of people. From those with addiction problems and their families to working with young people who are trying to find their way in life. I have experience of working with adults who want to address their inner child and past experiences to uncover what is going on for them in the here and now. Also a good understanding of working with those experiencing eating disorders.

We can talk and be as creative as you like within the sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
