About me

You are brave and have identified that you need some support at this very turbulent time. When a crisis hits, a future that was once clear can become confusing and scary. COVID-19 on top of existing concerns might be proving too much to cope with. Life is now very complicated and can leave us with feelings of anxiety, stress and depression. These negative feelings make life overwhelming. Sometimes it is helpful to talk to a person that is not directly involved in order to gain clarity and insight. I am currently offering sessions in person in my newly built counselling room which is within the government guidelines. Alternatively, I offer zoom, FaceTime and on telephone counselling

My approach draws from different talking therapies so that I can specifically tailor the way I work with you and your concerns. I offer one to one Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling operating within the BACP Framework for good practice.

I provide a safe, secure and confidential setting where personal issues, problems, thoughts and feelings can be explored.  I will listen in a non-judgemental manner with empathy, understanding and acceptance, helping you to identify and explore whatever is troubling you.

I will work through a problem with you, in order to help you to find your best way of coping with any issues, thoughts or feelings that may be causing you concern. The counselling you receive may be short and goal focused, or open ended.

The initial meeting is to discuss your requirements. This will not commit you to further sessions unless you wish to proceed.  Sessions are usually weekly, lasting for 50 minutes.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and fully insured.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
