Michelle Bayliss MBACP, BA (hons) Dip Couns
Welcome to my page. I am Michelle, a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor offering a warm, safe, non-judgemental space for you to consider what is going on for you. You may choose to bring a specific issue to look at in therapy, such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, bereavement or something from your past. Perhaps sometimes you panic or maybe you feel low and you want to explore this.
I offer a warm welcome and will endeavour to put you at ease from the start. I do not claim to have the answers but I believe, given the right environment, support and time, you can find your own answers.
The counselling process can feel like being on a rollercoaster at times but as the client, you will always be in the driving seat and we will go at your own pace. I foster a confidential space where we can both be honest and real.
I am based at the Helston Chiropractic Clinic where I can offer daytime and evening appointments - Monday to Friday and Saturday morning appointments.
I believe the relationship between client and counsellor is paramount to successful therapy, therefore I offer the first session at a reduced rate to see if I am the right therapist for you.
Whether you want the work to be short-term or long-term is an ongoing conversation throughout the counselling and decided by you.
Alongside my private practice, I currently work as a counsellor for Crasac (Cornwall Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre) with both adults and young people.
I also work as an associate counsellor for Relate Cornwall at Falmouth University.
I have previously worked as a volunteer counsellor for Waves and Penhaligon Counselling agencies.
I understand it takes courage to take the step into therapy. The first step might simply be making contact. I look forward to hearing from you.
