I am a child and adolescent Integrative therapist which means that I can tailor the therapy to suit your needs.
for example; If you are feeling anxious we can develop a treatment plan together that helps you to challenge your worries and find new ways of managing your thoughts and feelings.
If you are having difficulties managing relationships with friends and family we can use a solution focus approach to help you feel more confident in managing relational situations.
I also offer an interpersonal psychotherapy that specifically designed to treat depression and have been trained to use art and play materials if you find it difficult to talk about your feelings for any reason.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have had experience working with all ages of young people.
Initially I worked as a Nursery nurse and then a Nanny having qualified in 2000 gaining my NNEB
I then worked as a HLTA in whilst studying for my BA Honours degree in Early years, child care and Education.
I completed my first Post graduate diploma in child counselling using the arts, with the Institute of Arts, Therapy and Education in Islington. I did this whilst working as a trainee therapist for the local government in Harlow, where I went into primary schools in the borough providing weekly therapy to the young people that were struggling emotionally in school.
After qualifying I went to work for the NHS in Barking where I offered therapy to teenagers in the main NHS building. During this time I undertook another Postgraduate diploma in Interpersonal psychotherapy for adolescents with depression through the UCL.
After being made redundant I went to work at the Priory in Chelmsford where I am currently working, offering therapy to young people between the ages of 5-18 with any emotional difficulties affecting their well being.
