About me

I am the Manager of the Addictions Treatment Programme at the Priory's flagship hospital in Roehampton (London) where I have been for over 5 years. I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor. I am NHS-trained and currently work both at the Priory Hospital, Roehampton and at my private practice from Hampton Hill and Twickenham.

I am a highly qualified addictions therapist and I also specialise in stress, anxiety and depression; anger management; cross-addiction issues; trauma therapy; post-natal depression and other issues specifically related to women; development and childhood issues; narrative and art/ creative therapies; dream work and couples/ family counselling.

My approach is integrative, with a strong psychodynamic element, focusing on the humanistic therapeutic relationship. This means I can work with past issues, combining it with CBT where necessary and focusing on the present and relationships.

The crucial conduit is the relationship between the therapist (me) and the client or patient (you) - and this has to feel right if we are to feel comfortable to work together.

I am the Manager of the Addictions Treatment Programme in the Priory Hospital Roehampton and I work in private practice from Hampton and Roehampton.

I am a very experienced clinician and I work daily in a multi-disciplinary team in a major private psychiatric hospital and treatment centre and so my level of expertise means I can work with most issues in a deep and meaningful way, backed up by my wealth of experience which I add to on a daily basis.

I work with a multidisciplinary team of consultant psychiatrists, nurses and other psychotherapists which has added significant weight to my experience and practice. I deliver one to one therapy, group therapy, couples and family therapy and workshops on a daily basis and facilitate equine assisted therapy and other holistic and complementary therapies.

Other experience:

I have taught Counselling and Psychotherapy at Richmond Adult Community College and West Thames College up to Diploma level and am a PTLLS-qualified adult teacher-trainer. I have delivered workshops at the BBC and Twickenham Therapy Centre and new courses will be advertised on this page.

The one-day CPD courses at Twickenham Therapy Centre I have delivered to date include Addiction Counselling, the Psychoanalysis of Fairy Tales, work with the Inner Child, and Guilt and Shame.

I have worked at the Open Door Counselling Service in Feltham and also in an advisory capacity for the NHS locally. I have also worked at HMP Coldingley in the Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners treatment programme (RAPt).

As well as being the Manager of the Addictions Treatment Programme at the Priory's flagship hospital in Roehampton, I have extensive experience in the field of addictions and have worked for ASCA (Addiction Care and Support Agency in Richmond) and the Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust within the Prison Service.

I found therapy to be the start of an enriching personal odyssey and am thrilled to be sharing this enthusiasm, insight and healing with fellow travellers.

After completing an economic development degree at the London School of Economics, I trained with the BBC and worked for 15 years in Television Directing and Senior Management before embarking on a new career in Psychotherapy and Counselling.

I qualified with distinctions in Integrative Therapy and Counselling from Richmond College and completed my Masters in Psychoanalytical Studies at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust with a special interest in Psychoanalytical Applications to Culture and Clinical Child Observation.

I am interested in the client as a whole person, not as a "problem" or "issue" and this holistic approach is borne out of my varied work career and my current creative attitude to my practice, evidenced by my study and career to date.

Please visit my website or email me for further details without obligation. I look forward to hearing from you.

I always suggest an introductory session of one hour before we both agree on the best course of action and how to proceed. As I said before, it has to feel right and safe.
