Choosing a Therapist
To help and see if I am the right person to offer you the support you need, I offer a free, introductory, fifteen minute telephone consultation. If you would like to proceed we will arrange a convenient time for a first session. I can offer you a safe, confidential, comfortable counselling space to enable you to talk about what you are finding difficult at the moment. Sometimes if the words are just not there, we can use creative tools to explore what is happening. The choice is always yours.
I have been awarded BACP Accredited status with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. This has been designed to recognise counsellors who have achieved a high level of knowledge, experience and development, meeting the BACP's higher standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner. In addition to obtaining my general adult counselling qualification I have undertaken further training in the following:
- Working with the bereaved (Cruse Bereavement Care)
- Counselling skills with children using the arts (Institute for Art and Therapy in Education, Islington)
- Level 5 Psychotherapeutic counselling with children and young people (Ocean Counselling Training, LLP, Rochester)
- Foundation of Systemic Practice: Working with Families
My private practice is located in Hook, Hampshire, just off the M3 at junction 5. Parking is available within the immediate vicinity.
I offer short and long term therapy to adults, children and young people. I balance this whilst working in a local secondary school and prep school as a School Counsellor.
How can counselling help?
I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor. This means that I can offer you an empathic, non-judgemental, confidential counselling relationship where I will help support you to achieve your unique potential, empowering you to help make change happen through looking at your self development and your ability to make different choices. We will gently explore your feelings and emotions and help you to gain a greater understanding of yourself.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
