Michaela Hill BSc (Hons) MBACP Counselling for Adults & Young People (11-18)
I provide a friendly and empathic approach to counselling, working alongside you to help you come to terms with aspects of your life and find positive ways forward. You may have experienced a recent sad or traumatic event, or experiencing difficult circumstances/relationships which you are finding hard to cope with. Or sometimes challenging and complex feelings such as anger, frustration, anxiety, depression or a deep sense of loss may be difficult to understand and work through. Or perhaps you would just like to gain a sense of yourself and regain some control in your life.
Whatever it is you feel you would like to talk about, it would be met with respect and acknowledgement in a safe environment.
I work as an integrative counsellor, providing different types of therapy appropriate for the individual's needs. My training is based upon Person Centred Therapy and also includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and mindfulness.
Working from home, my therapy room is comfortable, peaceful and private and I am able to offer flexible appointments.
Training, qualifications & experience
My experience includes working both with adults and young people aged between 11 - 18. As well as my private practice, I currently work with young people in General Practitioner settings and schools in North Somerset, helping them to explore their feelings and problems which they may be finding difficult to cope with and understand.
I have experience working with various issues, including:
- self harm
- suicidal feelings
- academic pressure
- low self-esteem
