We all feel overwhelmed at times. Often we can come to a solution ourselves, but sometimes we may need support to help to to make changes that improve our quality of life. Seeking counselling can be very rewarding - providing us with an opportunity to take the time and attention to focus on our inner world and to make positive change. Individual therapy can provide the time and space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and to work towards growth. I will work with you to actively make change in your life, working on behaviors that may hold you back or cause you discomfort or distress.I provide support in a non-judgemental environment with a number of issues, including: family of origin issues, relationship issues, anxiety, depression /low mood, parenting, expatriate issues and many other unique circumstances. I work in an integrative manner, tailoring my approach to meet the needs of each individual client.
I can work with adults either online or in-person in Wilmslow, UK. I work with children and adolescents in-person only, unless in conjunction with family work; I often utilize play and creative arts techniques when working with children. I work with expats in diverse countries online via my online therapy service, Overseas Counselling and Psychotherapy Service, www.overseascounseling.com.
Training, qualifications & experience
I currently see clients privately in Wilmslow, England, offering individual, family, adolescent, and child therapy. I also see clients online globally through Overseas Counselling Service (www.overseascounseling.com), a resource which provides counselling and psychotherapy for expatriates in countries all over the world.
I spent eight years working as a counsellor overseas in International schools, and I have also been a school counsellor in the UK. In my role at these schools, I provided individual, group, couples', family, and play therapy services to primary, middle, and senior school aged students and their families. I also provided individual parenting support and ran parenting groups using Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP). I have worked with girls in group settings on Assertiveness Training and have provided individual and group therapy at a psychiatric hospital.
I have supervised trainee psychotherapists and have presented workshops for other counsellors at international conferences.
Post-Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy, Canterbury Christchurch University
