Megan Karnes has experience providing brief and long-term individual counselling, telephone support, email support and Skype as well as facilitating local and national support groups.
With nine years experience working with people effected by hoarding disorder, Megan understands that when engaging in a therapeutic relationship all the complexities of the problem need to be supported. Ultimately though, the person needs to be the focus.
It would be reckless to imply that everyone who engages changes, but the joined up intervention model has consistently resulted in personal and spacial change for individuals and families.
While her training is grounded in Person Centered theory, her study includes Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Object Relations/ Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Existential models. Her qualifications and memberships include BA (Hons) Counselling, Diploma Clinical Supervision and Consultancy, Primary Certificate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Member British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Megan has provided counselling across a range of professional settings including primary care, addiction, bereavement, young people and in private practice.
