I offer a safe non-judgemental space, where you can talk to a friendly and approachable counsellor about the difficulties you are having in your life.
I have helped clients with issues such as low mood, depression, anxiety, relationship and family problems, bereavement, addiction, stress, lack of purpose, loneliness or anger. If any of these issues are impacting you, together we can work to find the best way forward.
I can work to help you develop self-awareness, emotional management and resilience; and give you a new perspective on your experiences and on yourself. This new-found insight can open up more choices and the freedom for you to make positive changes to help you live a happier, more fulfilled life.
You can’t always control or change what happens to you, but by working together I hope to help you cope with crisis and setbacks, and to help you live in a more positive and fulfilling way. I believe everyone has within them the solution to their difficulties. I hope to help you find that within yourself.
My training is grounded in the Person Centred approach. I also have training in CBT and the psychodynamic model of therapy so I can tailor my work to suit your needs.
I have worked as a counsellor at a number of places including City Lit Adult Education, Metanoia Counselling & Psychotherapy Service and in schools across South West London. Currently I am a counsellor at the Royal National Institute for Blind People (RNIB), giving emotional support to people experiencing sight loss.
Before training as a counsellor, I worked as a journalist in the UK and in the US. I have also lived in Japan. I am American of Filipino decent and have lived in London for over 20 years. I hope to bring my diversity and international life experience to our work together.
