About me

Hello, my name is Maxine and I offer a holistic approach to counselling. The environment I like to work in is warm, trusting and supportive in a private and safe place which helps and supports individuals who are struggling with any difficulties, dilemmas, preoccupations or obstacles to happiness.

I am an experienced humanistic integrative counsellor and I work with children, young people and adults. I offer a service which is tailored to your specific needs and wants. I believe that a conducive warm open environment provides the individual with an opportunity to talk to someone in confidence about their issues. Furthermore, it is my aim to work with the individual to find a way to move forward and help them live a happier life, where they feel empowered to better manage life's 'ups and downs'.

I am experienced working with clients through different and diverse issues. I am currently the Counselling Coordinator with a well known charity and work with clients who struggle with many many issues including mental health, anxiety, addictions to alcohol and drugs. Furthermore, I have been successfully working together with the staff, children and young people of a local charity to raise their awareness of mindfulness and how to implement practices and techniques into their everyday lives.

I have practised as a Course Leader, Lecturer and Internal/External Verifier for many years teaching a wide range of courses and my core area of expertise was Counselling and Complementary Therapies.

I believe that my earlier experiences of working as a Complementary Therapist have undoubtedly had an impact on my 'way of being' and enabled me to be a truly Humanistic Counsellor.
