About Therapy

Counselling is for those who would like someone to talk to. Counselling and psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. They are delivered by trained practitioners who work with people over a short or long term to help them bring about effective change or enhance their wellbeingI

Integrative counselling working with Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Existential theories.  These three theories allow versatility to adapt approach in order to provide the best outcome for clients.

Person-Centred

The Person-centred model recognises that each person’s experiences of the world are unique and equally valid; no two people have the same frames of reference, experiences, upbringing or background.  This therapy works with the client in the here and now.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious and past experiences, to determine current behaviour. The client is encouraged to talk about childhood relationships with significant people, working to reveal the unconscious memories of past events that may have contributed to currents issues.

Existential

The Existential model is looking at your life and what it means to you, taking responsibility for your actions and choices. It is also about recognising that you have choices in life and are all free to make your own choices. This theory looks at your being in the world, who am I, where am I going and how you relate to your being in the world.
