I became a counsellor because I myself had counselling when I was going through a particularly traumatic period in my life. I found that it helped me immensely and decided it was something I would like to be able to do for others. I studied for four years and now I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling which enables me to practice as a Counsellor.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which means I work within their ethical guidelines. I adhere to a strict code of confidentiality. I also worked in the voluntary sector in bereavement support and domestic and sexual abuse. I am married and have two children.
