Hi, I’m Matt.
Thanks for looking at my profile. And now you're here, first things first, I want to say this really isn’t ‘about me.’ It’s about you, your life, and what you actually want from it.
Yet I imagine that might feel a million miles away right now.
Perhaps you’ve lost your way, or you just can’t switch your head off? You might even wonder if it’s even possible for you to break free from worry and live the life you want.
Yes, it really is. Professional counselling with me can help you gently unpick what’s causing you distress and find a kinder and more hopeful path ahead.
And the thing is, you needn’t do any of this alone.
Starting today … you CAN begin to live the life you want
Of course, turning your life around doesn't happen over night. But you do have a choice: carry on struggling, or decide you want the freedom to live your life.
If you’ve a question to help put your mind at ease, my contact details are right at the top. In the meantime, please have a read to see how my expertise and experience could support you take the brave next step: to get the help you deserve.
What’s troubling you?
When life is in turmoil, often the hope is that problems just go away - or we firefight the outward symptoms, instead of facing the underlying issues buried beneath.
Here is a list (not exhaustive) of the typical issues adults from all backgrounds seek my support for:
- Anxiety, stress, depression
- Relationship with parents and parenting problems
- Family, work, relationships
- Negative thoughts and patterns
- Bereavement, loss and life’s crises
Maybe you just can’t cope any more, or everything feels on top of you? You might not even know how you’re feeling, let alone why. To start finding the answers – already inside you - why not get in touch today?
Recover from the past, live for the future
Problems sometimes stem from childhood – often because of how a parent treated you. A reason for this could be that one of your parents was or is narcissistic - a complex counselling field I specialise in.
Perhaps you feel scarred by your childhood? Do you put yourself down, or lack confidence? Maybe you still struggle with a parent today, and wish you knew how to handle it.
If this sounds like you, you don’t have to live like this forever. There’s more to you than your childhood experience. And as an adult child of a narcissistic parent, you deserve to step beyond this hurt - and recognise yourself as a valuable person in your own right.
To discover more about how narcissism in parents manifests itself and what choices you have, do check out this article: http://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/counsellor-articles/why-is-my-relationship-with-mum-or-dad-so-difficult
Please, don’t let the past steal your future. Call or text me on 07443 640556…
How I work
My approach is called integrative Psychosynthesis. In short, this means I don’t just help you recover from past and current hurt, but help you embrace your future potential.
It’s a gentle, soulful way to help you feel more empowered at handling life’s problems… ‘Psychology with a soul,’ if you like. It’s a way to help you find inner strength and peace – plus help you connect with what the ‘whole’ of you really longs for.
Using an integrative approach, I draw on creative and well established therapeutic techniques – everything from Mindfulness and Gestalt therapy, to Psychodynamic and Transpersonal approaches.
Always respecting that your needs come first, I’ll ask the questions that matter, shine a light on your choices, and help you see the bigger picture in a compassionate, gentle way.
