Matt Fox - Here to Help with Life's Difficult Moments
Are you feeling overwhelmed or unsure of yourself? Do you feel unhappy or stuck?
Perhaps you are struggling with a relationship at home or work. Maybe you are experiencing depression, anxiety, stress or anger. Or perhaps you've experienced loss. Or maybe it's something else which is causing you pain.
Whatever it is, I imagine something doesn't feel right at the moment and it's having a big impact on your wellbeing.
Getting help takes courage. It might feel uncomfortable or scary.
I help people take that first step and get through whatever they are finding difficult in their life right now with professional counselling.
I'd like to be able to help you too. Don't suffer alone any longer. Get the help you need and deserve and contact me on 07443 640556 or by clicking the email button on this page.
How can I help?
I provide professional, confidential counselling so you can work through whatever is difficult for you at the moment.
I can help you explore all your thoughts and feelings so you can understand why things may be the way they are. My aim is to help you find a different way of being with what's happening now or has happened in the past.
I offer integrative Psychosynthesis counselling. This approach is a soulful and gentle way of working through what is painful and is guided by a belief that you can be all you can be.
It combines well-established counselling techniques (including person-centered, psychodynamic, Gestalt and transpersonal methods) to provide an approach which is unique to your needs.
I also incorporate mindfulness and creativity into the way I work, if that feels right for you.
You can find out more about Psychosynthesis and my way of working on my website:
You may feel this instinctively, but being outdoors in nature has been shown to be a powerful help for wellbeing. It can also relieve anxiety and help with depression.
I'm one of few counsellors in the UK to be trained in depth to offer nature-based therapy sessions outdoors (also known as ecotherapy.) I offer sessions in nearby nature.
Want to take the next step? What happens first
When you contact me, I will always try to respond within a day and meet you for a 50 minute initial meeting within a week.
At this first session we will explore what is going on for you and how counselling might be able to help. If we agree that working together is the right thing for you, we'll confirm when we will meet and whether a limited number of sessions is appropriate or to work more open-endedly.
Why work with me?
I'm passionate about my work as a counsellor and have a deep belief through my work and personal experience of how counselling can completely change your life. My aim is to help you find a way through, however desperate and difficult things have become.
I've had the honour of accompanying many people on their journey of change. I'd be honoured to see if I might be right for you too.
What to expect
Counselling can be an enriching and sometimes challenging experience.
People who have counselling with me talk of:
- an expanding awareness
- feeling more in touch with and less at the mercy of their feelings
- feeling more connected to themselves and others
- feeling more connected with their own power and their right to exist.
Each person is unique as is their experience of counselling but many of my clients say they experience greater inner peace over time and a more consistent feeling of wellbeing.
Ultimately the aim of the counselling is for you to be all you can be in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience
I’m a professional counsellor with a post graduate level qualification. I am registered with the BACP, whose ethical guidelines I adhere to and am fully insured.
I initially trained as a Psychosynthesis counsellor at the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust, the UK's oldest and foremost centre for Psychosynthesis. I came to counselling having experienced the transformational potential of this approach to counselling in my own life.
I have a passion for nature and how it can impact each of us.
I have trained in depth to work as a counsellor outdoors (also known as an ecotherapy), with the leading practitioners in the UK, Martin Jordan and Hayley Marshall. I work with clients in natural settings.
I regularly write articles on counselling, its benefits and how it changes lives:
I volunteered with Sussex Carers and have extensive experience of working with carers.
I've a broad range of life experiences including living and working abroad, working the public and private sector, setting up and running a business and managing people. I've worked as a coach and mentor in professional settings.
I continue to update my skills and experience with ongoing training.
