You may be thinking about coming to counselling because you are experiencing difficulties or problems and feel you are going through a rough patch. It is often hard to speak to family and friends about these worries and there is a need at these times to speak to someone who will listen and understand and accept you as you are.
I work in a person-centred approach, offering you a confidential and safe space, where you are free to explore your concerns and difficulties, without any judgement. I will not offer you advice or give you a solution, as every human is different. I will work alongside you at your pace not mine to gain an awareness of your internal resource.This will bring about fresh insight and enable you to discover new aspects of yourself.

Stress and Anxiety
Stress is a normal response to situations in life, it keeps you on your toes, pushes you to keep deadlines, and manage a home. However when your stress levels begin to rule you and affect your health and well-being, it becomes non-productive. Stress can affect your mind, body, and behaviour leading to problems at work, home, and relationships causing even more stress.
I offer a welcoming and safe environment for both one-to-one counselling and small group work. I can offer group therapy for the same areas as one-to-one counselling, including relaxation.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I currently offer private counselling in carlisle city centre, the location has a comfortable and calming environment. I also offer voluntary counselling to a local hostel as and when needed.
I have counselling experience, working in; Carlisle Carer's, NHS, and a local Drugs Advisory Service in Carlisle . In 2009 I qualified as a person-centred counsellor, this was an accredited course which I studied at the University of Cumbria. I have also done further training in; Stress Management, and Bullying and Harassment Therapy. Other areas I gained experience working in were with young offenders, teenagers & adults with learning disabilities, and the elderly
