You may be thinking about coming to counselling because you are experiencing difficulties or problems and feel you are going through a rough patch. It is often hard to speak to family and friends about these worries and there is a need at these times to speak to someone who will listen and understand and accept you as you are.
I work in a person-centred approach, offering you a confidential and safe space, where you are free to explore your concerns and difficulties, without any judgement. I will not offer you advice or give you a solution, as every human is different. I will work alongside you at your pace not mine to gain an awareness of your internal resource. This will bring about fresh insight and enable you to discover new aspects of yourself.
Benefits of Counselling
-Allowing yourself to live more in the present, not worry about the future or dwell on the past
I offer a 20 minute free consultation. This can give you a chance to ask any questions or discuss any concerns that you may have about counselling. I understand it can be a difficult/daunting choice to come to counselling. There is no obligation after this first contact to make an appointment, it is to give you a chance to decide whether you think I will be the right counsellor for you. I can only offer this on a Tuesday morning between 10.00 -12.00 and a Thursday afternoon between 1.00 - 3.00
Stress and Anxiety
Stress is a normal response to situations in life, it keeps you on your toes, pushes you to keep deadlines, and manage a home. However when your stress levels begin to rule you and affect your health and well-being, it becomes non-productive. Stress can affect your mind, body, and behaviour leading to problems at work, home, and relationships causing even more stress.
I offer a welcoming and safe environment for both one-to-one counselling and small group work. I can offer group therapy for the same areas as one-to-one counselling, including relaxation.
Further information about my service can be found on my website, the link is provided above.
