About me

I would describe my approach as psychodynamic, but lean towards an existential perspective. Whilst the importance of past events and relationship patterns are integral to the person you are today, it is how you come to clarify and understand those events from the perspective of the present that will enable you to move forward.

Therapy is a collaborative endeavour, and it is widely recognised that it is the strength of the relationship that is key to therapeutic success, as opposed to any specific modality.

I have previous experience working in the film and television industries, primarily in drama development, and retain an interest in these fields.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified psychotherapist, and hold a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Psychotherapy and Counselling, and an Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy (ADEP) from Regent’s University.

I also hold a Certificate in Supervision from the Society of Analytical Psychology.

I am fully accredited through the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I adhere strictly to the UKCP’s Code of Ethics, and receive regular supervision with supervisors also regulated by the UKCP. I am also a member of the Society for Existential Analysis (SEA).

In addition to my private practice, I am a psychotherapist in a secondary care service within the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Trust. I have specialist experience working in organisations which support both women and men who have experienced sexual violence. I have worked as a counsellor for one of London’s leading drama schools. I also have extensive experience as a volunteer, shift leader, and trainer with the Central London branch of Samaritans.

I have previous experience working in the film and television industries, primarily in casting and drama development, and retain an interest in these fields.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
