About me

Welcome to my Counselling Directory site.

We all have challenges within our lives.  If you are struggling or having problems you may be experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, addiction, learning disabilities or mood disorders.  As a professional therapist I can help you manage these challenges through therapy and counselling.

As a client you may come with a wide range of complex issues and together we will focus on any particular concerns and development issues you may have. We will explore how to manage your specific problems, making choices, coping with a crisis, feelings of inner conflict and improving your relationship with others.

I am an Integrative counsellor from a person centered background which means the approach that I will use will be determined by the challenges you may be facing.  I will treat you with respect and acceptance of your uniqueness which will enable our relationship to be built on trust and will help you gain self-acceptance and promote a positive change.

Your decision to come to counselling can be quite daunting but if you feel that the service I provide could help you then don’t hesitate to contact me on one of the above numbers in strict confidence and with no obligation.

My practice is located in a quiet and discrete location within the village of Clifford which is near Wetherby/Boston Spa with off street parking.

I have supervision for my professional development in line with BACP guidelines.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
