Mary Davy - Counselling and CBT (BABCP Accredited)
9 Great Northern House
Great Northern Terrace
Hi, I'm Mary. I believe that counselling is about listening and helping you to make the changes in your life that you want to change. It is not about telling you what you should or shouldn't do, or how you should change.
People come for counselling for many reasons - some of the most common are anxiety, stress and depression. My experience for the past 17 years has been with people experiencing anxiety, depression, abuse, sexual, physical and emotional, bereavement, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, panic disorder, low self esteem and phobias. Each person's life experience is different and so is how they respond to situations in their life - therefore each experience of counselling will also be different.
I believe that each person is unique and that any therapy they need should be individual to them and their problems. I therefore use elements of Transactional Analysis, Person Centered, psycho dynamic and of course Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approaches according to the needs of the clients.
Because I want you to feel comfortable with me I offer a free half hour session so you can decide if you would like to work with me
I am a BABCP Accredited CBT Psychotherapist and have worked both within the NHS and as a private counsellor and CBT psychotherapist. I have been Counselling since 2000 and a CBT therapist since 2009.
