About me

Your preliminary session is free and lasts up to 90 minutes. I know just how nerve-racking it can be to see a new therapist or to enter therapy for the first time so we can meet up and talk and it won't cost you a thing.

I do this because the most important factor in predicting the success of any therapy is whether you and the therapist hit it off and whether you feel comfortable in working with that person. For my part I can listen to what you want and then let you know whether I feel I can help and if I feel that I can not, I will recommend someone who can and that service is free of charge.

Training, qualifications & experience

I began work in 1977 with Exegesis, the UK's EST. I have an MSc from Surrey University in Change Agent Skills and Strategies, (CASS). This was a humanistic training for mentors and life-coaches.

I have an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from Middlesex University as well as a Diploma in Clinical Practice from The Metanoia Institute and membership to the UKCP.

For the past 16 year I have trained with Drs Hal and Sidra Stone in 'Voice Dialogue' which is terrific for couples work.

For seven years I was an Honorary Psychotherapist in the NHS working in Soho's Community Mental Health Team. For five years I was Chair of 'The Minster Centre on the the UKs leading colleges', and I am an elected trustee of the UKCP

I founded and run 'The Long Boat Home' an organisation that arranges low-cost therapy for ex service men and woman and their families.www.thelongboathome.co.uk

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
