About me

I am a qualified Counselling Psychologist and hold professional registrations with both the British Psychological Society as well as the Health Professions Council.

Asking for help from a stranger can be a daunting step. Counselling can provide a safe and supportive environment in which many scary feelings can be explored and worked through. I aim to be non-judgemental and believe that every individual is unique in the way they see their world and in their responses to life events.

I provide an integrative approach to my work whilst still holding the core principles of the Person centred theory. My therapy is tailored around you and your needs. Our first session would be to see what you aim to gain through therapy and to ascertain whether you feel that you are comfortable enough to work with me. A working relationship between therapist and client is very important as intimate feelings are revealed during therapy. You as an individual need to feel that you can trust your therapist to hold those feelings and to treat them with respect.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology through Roehampton University. I have worked for Brent Bereavement for over two years, focusing on bereavement and loss.
I have also worked for the charity Mind where I saw both adult and adolescents sessions were either limited or open-ended. I have worked with a variety of issues, domestic abuse, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, abuse in general and many others.

I have worked in South Africa where I focused on assessments (ADHD, ADD, Cognitive and Career Choice assessments), my work also involved working with Trauma (traumatic bereavement, hijackings etc)

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
