About me

I am an experienced psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working with adults, young people and couples. I have a natural ability to empathise with my clients and am able to offer the support they need whilst working together to find tailor-made solutions. My clients often reflect on how their own journey has progressed through therapy with me, and many of my referrals come through word of mouth and the resulting network I have developed over the years.

Before training to be a therapist at the University of Surrey, I worked in management and Human Resources. I currently hold a post of teaching Psychology, as well as work in Private Practice. This experience, as well as my experience of working in other countries has enriched my ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and professions.

My Approach

I make use of an integrative approach, drawing on various therapies including humanistic therapies, (person-centred Approach), solution focused, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). My training allows me to draw from a wide range of psychological assessments and therapeutic techniques. I understand that not everything works for everyone and as such I am able to tailor my approach to your individual needs.

The therapeutic relationship is important and as such I aim to build a secure and trusting relationship from the outset, providing a safe environment in which they can explore their problems, thoughts and feelings. I offer both short and long term therapy, depending on the needs of the client. I offer daytime, evening and Skype appointments from my private practice in Farnham town centre.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
