Marion Booth BA (Honours)
I am a fully qualified, BACP registered counsellor working from a counselling suite in Chelmsford.
I am an integrative counsellor and can work short-term, focusing on a specific issue or open-ended to enable a deeper personal exploration of yourself.
I also offer mindfulness based therapies.
I aim to provide a safe space to in which you feel comfortable to explore difficulties. I will not tell you what to do but aim to help you to explore what’s going on to enable self awareness and understanding and bring about the potential to change.
I have been fortunate to have worked in a variety of settings that have enabled me to have a level of understanding and experience that has aided my work, including my earlier career as a solicitor specialising in family law.
I have particular experience working in an addiction rehab centre with people who have a history of drug and alcohol abuse as a counsellor for a number of years; throughout the stages of rehab and have experience of working with clients in their recovery using both individual tailored therapy and incorporating mindfulness when appropriate. I also have experience working in a cancer care centre with both cancer sufferers and their relatives.
I also work with clients with a wide range of issues and I see people who have low self esteem and those who have been abused. I am particularly interested in how early relationships affect our adult lives.
I belong to the BACP Register
If you choose to come to counselling I will listen attentively to begin to understand the difficulties from your point of view. Talking through issues can help to see them more clearly. We can look at options and choices to see what is best for you.
Please do not hesitate to call or email if you would like to speak to me or find out more.
