The Practice At Angel Islington

My name is Marilyn McKenzie and I am a qualified practising counsellor and psychotherapist and I specialise in the following areas:
- Couples experiencing difficulty with intimacy or connection
- Recovering after an affair
- Singles who are struggling to find love or have unfulfilling sex lives
- Workplace Stress
Welcome to my page. I'm a therapist who focuses on relationships. Whether your partner had an affair, or perhaps you've realised that you no longer have a connection /intimacy, therapy can help. Maybe you're single and have been struggling to meet someone whom you can share your life with. Sometimes it's our families or friends we are struggling with. I am a Psychotherapist based near Cannon St & Angel and I'm here to help. An affair doesnt always mean the end of the relationship and it is possible to revive the intimacy with support.
Or maybe you are struggling with an addiction. It could be to drugs, sex, gambling or food. I have worked in addiction for 14 years and would like to help you achieve your goals whether it is abstinence or maintenance. The therapy is tailor made to your needs.
I am an open minded therapist so I do not shock easily. Sometimes we just need someone to listen and help us work through things. Sometimes we want more motivation. Whatever your goals are, I am here to help you get there. I'm just a click away.

The Relationship MOT programme
In January I will be running the Relationship MOT programme or couples who struggled over the Christmas and those who are unsure about their future in 2018. The fees are negotiable but will be discounted for the first 6 sessions. (Min £60 per session).
New Year, New Love?
The Relationship MOT
January has always been a tricky time of the year for relationships as it signals new beginnings and closure. It allows people to evaluate where they are, where they want to be and whether their partner can come with them.
Maybe things have been stale for a while.
Maybe you don't feel as close to each other anymore.
The sex has become mundane and monotonous.
There could be a reoccurring issue that keeps rearing its head be it:
Or even who does what in the household
Perhaps someone else has caught your eye.
There could be any or all these things going on but you are not sure whether it's time yet to leave the relationship.
Sometimes all we need is a short relationship MOT to get things back on track. This is why I always offer a block of 6 sessions of couples or singles counselling in January/ February at a discounted rate which can be negotiated.
Rash decisions, where relationships are concerned, can leave people filled with regret. So before you make that final decision try couples counselling so that whatever happens you can move forward into 2018 with confidence.
