About me

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here.

Life is a series of bends and curves and all of us have times when we need a bit of help to navigate them.

We can feel stuck and not know where to turn, maybe relationships are a struggle or perhaps work and family pressures are difficult to manage. Perhaps you find yourself going round a familiar pattern and are having difficulty seeing how things might be different. Maybe life has dealt you a blow and knocked your confidence, leaving you feeling alone, lonely and confused.

I understand that talking to someone about your problems can feel pretty daunting . My aim is to offer a warm, respectful, confidential and supportive space . Together we can then explore what's worrying you and find new ways to manage, so that life can feel more fulfilling.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and have degree in Integrative Relational Counselling. This means that I am able to draw on a number of different theories to support our work together. Generally I work from an experiential and relational attachment model, paying attention to what's happening in the present moment even when we are talking about things that happened inthe past.

I work with couples, individuals and young people over 16 who are experiencing a range of problems such as relationship issues, work issues, bereavement, loss of job and/or health, depression, anxiety, abortion, low self esteem ,developmental trauma including childhood abuse.

Depending on your reasons for coming , we can work longer term or we can work for a focussed period, generally 12 to 16 sessions.

I offer daytime appointments and some evenings with the latest appointment at 7pm.

What Next?

Please contact me . I offer an initial 20 minute phonecall at no charge or, if you prefer,  simply email me and we can book an initial consultation. After the initial consultation we can decide whether, and how we'd like to continue.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
